14, 2011 - A group of artists at
the recent Las Vegas Furniture
Market illustrated how
Anatomic Global’s new
premium memory foam mattress,
Comfort by Design, is truly a
“work of art.” The artists
worked for two days carving and
painting in Anatomic Global’s
showroom at the Market in a
competition to win a Comfort by
Design mattress and a cash prize
of $1,000.
The artists, sculptor Alex
Carbet and painters Diane Mifsud
Giusti, Beti Kristof and Niki
Sands, used only amber, blue,
green and gray, which are the
hues of the Comfort by Design
logo. Carbet’s sculpture
depicted a woman floating in
cloud-like representations of
the multiple foam layers that
comprise a memory foam mattress.
Kristof’s painting portrayed a
woman standing in front of a
lush mountain range and
surrounded by antique keys,
symbolizing the unlocking of the
secret to comfortable, peaceful
sleep through Comfort by Design.
Sand’s painting showed a woman
reclining on soft multi-colored
wavy layers which expressed the
conforming and supportive layers
of the mattress. Misfud Guisti’s
painting abstractly depicted
water-drop like figures and a
tree sprout to represent the
fluid-like comfort of memory
foam and the earth-friendly
nature of the plant-based foam
of a Comfort by Design mattress.
Furniture retailers and buyers
who attended the market voted to
select the winner. Sculptor Alex
Carbet was the winner. Painter
Beti Krisof was the first runner
up.
“The artwork produced for this
project was beautiful beyond our
expectations,” said Anatomic
