March 31, 2009 - The
Specialty Sleep Association
(SSA) announces that Todd
Youngblood and Jeff Scorziell
have been named members of the
Board of Directors according to
SSA president Dale T. Read. “The
Specialty Sleep Association is
thrilled to have Todd and Jeff
join our board due to their
insight into the specialty sleep
category and drive to reach our
goals toward ‘the future of
sleep’.”
Todd Youngblood is
President of
Chili Technology LLC,
ProSource Services International
and T2International. A graduate
of Principia College with a B.S.
in Business Administration, Todd
has held positions in sales and
product management at American
Recreation Products and
Stearns/K2 Inc. Youngblood is
married to his business partner
and the parent of four sons. He
was born in Florida and grew up
in Rockville Center, NY.
Jeff Scorziell has three
generations of experience in the
mattress business. He started
his career at the age of 17
making mattresses when his
family owned a King Koil
franchise. From 1989 to 1993, he
served as sales manager at a
Loving Care/Springwall franchise
in Southern California.
Scorziell joined his family’s
factory direct mattress business
in 1993. Under his leadership,
the company grew from 6 to 40
stores in the southern
California market. Jeff joined
Anatomic Global in March
2008 to develop an eco-friendly
mattress line to bring to
market. Jeff has both experience
in the manufacturing and retail
side of the business.
At the World Market Center in
Las Vegas, the SSA also
re-elected their leadership
team. Dale T. Read, the
editor-in-chief and publisher of
Bedroom Magazine, will continue
to serve as President and
Treasurer; retailer Michael
Nermon of Ergo Customized
Comfort serves as Vice
President; and Mark Miller of
Innomax, Denny Boyd of Boyd
Specialty Sleep, and Bart
Dehaerne, President of Deslee
Textiles, USA continue to serve
as board members.
Memory foam, latex, air, gel,
water, adjustable, new spring
technology, natural and organic
bedding products continue to
fuel the growth of the bedding
industry.
Over the past several months,
the SSA has succeeded in
attracting other new members to
its group, such as Sealy, I-Care
Sleep Products, 1-800-Mattress,
TempurPedic, Leggett & Platt,
Englander, Natura World,
Hollandia, Lilly Management,
Comfortaire, and Latex
International, among others.
