February 23, 2009 - The Specialty Sleep
Association (SSA) reported
an outstanding turnout at the
recent Las Vegas Market.
According to SSA president Dale
T. Read, “the Specialty Sleep
Association is extremely pleased
by the retailer traffic in the
showroom due to the synergy in
the industry. Over 350 retail
stores visited our SSA showroom
with over 520 individual buyers
visiting our 28 exhibitors.”
“When we opened the doors of the
market, we really didn’t know
what the actual attendance
results would be given the state
of our economy,” said Read.
“However, there was a steady
flow of stores with, in some
cases, multiple buyers. The
energy in the SSA showroom
proves how our new technologies
are what dealers and retailers
are looking for. The diversity
of products offered attendees
new options for the future of
sleep.
“Regardless of the material --
latex or wool, cotton or soy,
foam, quilting or ticking -- the
bedding industry continues to
move in a more eco-friendly
direction,” said Read.
“Innovation and product
development focused on better
performance and meeting the
needs of the consumer is the
path to the future regardless of
the economy. Growth in the
bedding industry will continue
to be fueled by bedding
technologies including as memory
foam, latex, gel, and natural
and organic bedding products.”
Memory foam, latex, air, gel,
water, adjustable, new spring
technology, natural and organic
bedding products continue to
fuel the growth of the bedding
industry.
