June 20, 2008 - For the first time ever, the
Specialty Sleep Association
(SSA) will unveil its own 15,000
sq. foot permanent showroom
space in Building C (C-1350) at
the World Market Center (WMC) ,
beginning with the opening at
the July 2008 Market. The
group’s theme --- “The Future of
Sleep” --- will be reflected by
the innovative companies and
products exhibiting in this
space.
“Specialty sleep is the fastest
growing segment of the bedding
industry,” notes Dale Read,
President, SSA. “With consumer
and retail acceptance on the
rise, we jumped at the
opportunity to better showcase
and promote our members’
products to retail buyers.”
“The future of the bedding
industry with the latest
technology is now under one
roof,” said Read. “It feels like
Disneyland for bedding with
everything from memory foam,
latex, air, and gel to water,
adjustable, natural and organic
bedding products all at one
site.” Specialty sleep bedding
uses the most innovative
technologies to provide
comfortable cushioning of the
body with the support necessary
for proper alignment during
sleep.
Since the new SSA Board took
office in January 2008, the
organization has succeeded on a
number of fronts including
securing permanent space at the
World Market Center (WMC),
attracting new members to its
group including Leggett & Platt,
1-800-Mattress, Hollandia,
Englander, Lilly Management,
Comfortaire, Latex
International, Tempur-Pedic,
Therapedic and others; raising
awareness of the specialty sleep
category via media placements to
promote the “Future of Sleep” in
such markets as Los Angeles, New
York, Washington D.C. and
Charlotte as well as national
print and online media outlets,
and attracting new members to
the SSA.
