Spring Air International and Jamison Bedding—one of
the country’s most well established and respected
bedding independents—have signed a license agreement
that enables Jamison to make and market Spring
Air-branded products in the states of Indiana, Ohio and
Kentucky, announced Spring Air president Rick Robinson.
Jamison, which will produce Spring Air and flagship
Back Supporter products exclusively from its
100,000-square-foot Gallatin, TN factory, “is a perfect
fit with our company and we’re proud to have them as a
partner in our growing group,” Robinson said.
“Jamison is a strong, well-respected bedding producer
in its own right, and in terms of business values like
innovation and quality, we are well aligned,” he added.
“This development is an excellent example of the
positive growth and evolution that the Spring Air
organization is undergoing.”
Based in Brentwood, TN with factories in both
Gallatin, TN and Albany, GA, Jamison fills an APR (Area of
Primary Responsibility) formerly served by Spring Air
Midwest in Columbus, OH. That plant was closed late last
year and retailers have been serviced by Spring Air
factories here and in Toledo, IA.
“We’re very pleased that we took the necessary time
to find the right partner to promote and sell our
products in the Midwest region,” Robinson said.
To manage the Spring Air rollout, Jamison has
expanded the responsibilities of its territory manager,
Drew Bryson, now based in Columbus, IN, to include that
state plus northern Kentucky and initially, the state of
Ohio.
Jamison ultimately will seek a sales representative
to cover northern Ohio, according to Ken Hinman, senior
vice president of sales and marketing.
To meet fellow licensees and retail customers, Hinman,
Bryson and Jamison president Frank Gorrell will join
Spring Air next week in its B-1125/1126 showrooms during
the Las Vegas market.
“This is an exciting venture between two longstanding
mattress brands that value their heritage and take pride
in both their people and products,’ Hinman said.
“The synergies that exist in this new arrangement
will enable us to maximize our raw materials purchasing,
leverage our delivery systems in new markets and
increase factory productivity.
“We also see the strength of the Spring Air brand and
its emphasis on smart marketing and meaningful
innovation as major opportunities for us,” he added.
Jamison plans to continue marketing its own mattress
brands like Arbor, Crest, Oceania and TLC, among other
collections. As a major supplier to U.S. hotels and
properties like Marriott and Best Western, the company
also will maintain its hospitality lines, including its
prestigious Hypnos line of licensed products.
Spring Air International has 14 manufacturing
facilities in the United States and operates in 33
countries globally. The company helps retailers drive
business while leveraging the reputation for trust and
integrity inspired by its 85-year-old name.
