Therapedic International
announced that it has signed
Winco, Inc. as its new Texas
licensee. Winco, the company’s
licensee in Haleyville, Alabama,
has agreed to expand its
Therapedic operation by opening
a new facility in Carrollton,
Texas. This facility was
previously operated by the
former Spring Air Company. Winco
is owned and operated by Carroll
Moran, who, also, owns Corsicana
Bedding.
The factory will service all of
Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana,
Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri
for Therapedic.
“We are especially pleased to
have Winco expand its Therapedic
operation,” said Gerry
Borreggine, president and CEO of
Therapedic International. “It’s
a strong endorsement of our
program, and an affirmation of
its adaptability by independent
entrepreneurs, either small or
larger operations, such as Winco,”
he said.
“What Therapedic is doing fits
our plan,” said Carroll Moran,
owner of Winco. Winco has also
acquired the Spring Air license
for Texas, according to Moran.
“We planned to put a Therapedic
plant in Texas, and then, Spring
Air and this plant became
available,” said Moran. The
factory will operate as a
dual-license, according to
Moran. Therapedic has been
without a licensee in Texas for
two years. The new factory is
currently in operation and has
begun Therapedic shipping
product, said Doug Guffey,
president of Winco.
“This is a great opportunity to
bring back a brand name, a
product, and a value that has
been sorely missed in this
territory,” said Guffey. “We
intend to run this business on
volume,” he added.
This latest addition gives
Therapedic thirteen factories in
the U.S. The company also
operates a large network of
international licensees,
according to Borreggine.
