2011 - On the February 20th “Extreme
Makeover: Home Edition” on ABC, America
watched as the lives of U.S. Army Staff
Sergeant Patrick Zeigler and his fiancée
Jessica Hansen once again changed forever.
Zeigler, one of 32 wounded by a gunman at
Fort Hood, was selected by the popular
reality show to receive a new home,
including four sleepharmony
mattresses provided by specialty sleep
manufacturer Glideaway® Sleep Products and
their retail partner All American Sleep &
Mattress in Georgetown, TX.

During the
December filming, Zeigler and Hansen were
joined by team leader Ty Pennington and the
shows newest designers, rapper Xzibit and
Leigh Anne Tuohy who is best known as the
inspirational mother portrayed by Sandra
Bullock in The Blind Side.
Representatives
from All American Sleep & Mattress joined
the unveiling with hundreds of other
community volunteers who helped to build,
furnish and decorate the home from the
ground up.
The newly
renovated Salado, TX ranch home now features
three bedrooms, an outdoor movie theatre,
and a therapy room where Patrick can
continue his recovery. While shooting the
episode, the “Extreme” design team paid
tribute to Zeigler’s patriotism and to the
other Fort Hood victims and their families.
