SSA Welcomes New Board Member

September 19, 2026

On behalf of the SSA Board, I am thrilled to welcome Julia Rosien to the team!

At our July Board meeting, we sadly accepted outgoing Board member Rion Morgenstern’s decision to step down after several years of dedicated and inspired service to the SSA. Rion’s leadership, fresh ideas and enthusiasm have truly enriched our association. We will miss having him at the Board table, but he has promised to remain available for consultation — and we may just take him up on that!

Thank you, Rion, for everything you have given to the SSA!

That being said, I was excited to nominate Julia to fill Rion’s seat. She has been a longtime supporter and advocate of the Specialty Sleep Association, so I was thrilled when the Board ratified her nomination — and double thrilled when our members agreed with their votes!

Julia’s support of the SSA goes back many years. She was instrumental in the development and launch of our new website and later helped lead and implement our social media program. She knows our association and has already demonstrated her willingness to roll up her sleeves and help.

“We’re thrilled to have someone of Julia’s caliber on our board. We’re looking forward to working with her not only for her industry knowledge but also the fact that she’s just a great human! Welcome to the SSA Julia!,” says SSA Chairman Pascal Roberge.

Julia brings years of experience in the bedding industry, a fresh perspective and a willingness to ask questions and look at things differently. She also knows her way around a leadership team — having served as President of WithIt and Chair of the Board for the Better Sleep Council, in addition to senior marketing leadership roles with Restonic and Leggett & Platt.

Just as important to me, she understands the SSA and believes in what we do. She knows that bringing people together, sharing ideas and creating opportunities for our members is what makes an association like ours valuable.

I am very happy to have her voice, energy and experience on our Board — and delighted to officially welcome Julia Rosien to the SSA Board of Directors!
