We want to take a moment to celebrate Dale Read and the extraordinary impact he had on the Specialty Sleep Association.
Dale devoted nearly 20 years to the SSA as a board member, including nine years as President. During that time, he championed initiatives such as the Environmental and Bedfax Programs, leaving a lasting mark on the organization and the industry.
As the creator and publisher of Bedroom Magazine, Dale was a gifted writer and editor. He also brought that expertise to the SSA, overseeing public relations throughout his presidency with care, insight, and professionalism.
Rest in peace, Dale—you will always hold a place in our hearts.
More than his accomplishments, Dale will be remembered for who he was. He was a trusted collaborator, a steady partner, and a true friend to Executive Director Tambra Jones and to so many across the SSA community. His support for the organization never wavered.
Dale was widely known, deeply respected, and always warmly welcomed throughout the bedding industry. He had a way of connecting with people that left a lasting impression.
He will be remembered with gratitude and missed beyond words by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
