All of us in Las Vegas felt the impact of the massive winter storm that struck during Winter Market. Dubbed “Winter Storm Fern” by The Weather Channel, it created widespread travel disruptions for many planning to attend Market. Reports indicated that more than 10,000 flights nationwide were cancelled or postponed, with travel bans enacted across numerous states. SFGate noted that between January 23–26 alone, the storm forced nearly 20,000 flight cancellations nationwide—marking the worst single-day disruption since the early COVID-19 shutdowns.

SHOWROOM WAS BUZZING
Despite those challenges, activity inside the SSA showroom remained strong. Front-door scans showed only 11 fewer buyer groups than January 2025.
“Our room was vibrant and buzzing this winter market,” said SSA Executive Director Tambra Jones. “It makes you wonder what it would have felt like without the storm and the travel disruptions.”
Jones also observed that many buyers adjusted their schedules, arriving earlier and leaving sooner to avoid potential travel delays. “We saw a larger buying day on Saturday this year, followed by a quieter Tuesday,” she noted. “Last January, we scanned nearly 100 new buyer badges on Market Tuesday alone. This year, we had 65—but overall engagement remained strong throughout the show.”

Market was filled with great energy and enthusiasm for the new year. Standout moments were largely centered around social functions and one-on-one conversations. The SSA continued to be one of the most innovative and busy spaces at Vegas Market.

SSA was a great event for us, generating several strong new connections across multiple companies. Despite challenging weather and reduced attendance, our showroom stayed busy. The co-op format clearly worked, bringing in a steady stream of engaged customers throughout the show.

This was CELLIANT’s first time exhibiting at Winter Market, and the SSA showroom provided an ideal environment for high-quality conversations with engaged industry insiders. We were able to meet with a strong mix of retailers, manufacturers, and industry leaders who were genuinely engaged in how health and wellness technologies can differentiate sleep products. It’s clear why SSA has established such a strong presence at LV Market, and we look forward to exhibiting this summer.

As a first-time exhibitor at Las Vegas Market, My Green Mattress introduced our wholesale and white label organic mattress division, Go Green Mattress. The Specialty Sleep Association showroom was a good place to begin conversations with retailers interested in certified organic mattress options. We connected with people who were able to learn more about our certifications and product quality, and many were excited to experience our mattresses in person while learning more about us as a family-owned and operated manufacturer.

Mega Motion had a record attendance at the Las Vegas Market January 2026 Market in the SSA showroom – up 10%. Mega Motion did see several major accounts as well-Raymour, Relax the Back, Jerome’s and AMI buying group (50 stores) to name a few. Mega Motion also opened 7 new independent stores, 2 in Minnesota, 2 in Pacific Northwest, 2 in California and 1 in Colorado.
We saw a steady flow of dealers as well-not all at once. So a very positive Market for Mega Motion.

We saw strong traffic, high-quality retailer meetings, and a clear appetite for innovation and reliability in the category. Mother Nature, with her snow and ice storm sweeping across 30 states, couldn’t stop the energy at the Las Vegas Market. Cariloha, The Softest Bedding on the Planet™, saw retailers eager to embrace Bedding Essentials, recognizing that these are the revenue drivers walking out the door with every mattress sale, and they’re ready to stop handing those sales to big‑box stores.
Even though Cariloha is now in our own showroom, we remain involved as a member. Tambra has created a community that truly represents the soul of the industry, and C1565 continues to matter because it’s where so many brands, including ours, first connected with retailers who helped shape their success. Cariloha will always support the SSA and consider them a valuable part of our growth.

Las Vegas Market exceeded Jensen Beds expectations, as we received such an enthusiastic response from key retailers, suppliers and the trade press, who were also thrilled to meet CEO and sleep pioneer JanTrygve Jensen, who made the long journey from Norway and enjoyed the “balmy” 60 degree Vegas weather (while it was 6 degrees back at the factory). Everyone that stopped by to learn about Jensen’s products was wowed, once they discovered that below the beautiful headboards and under exquisitely tailored covers is an innovative, ergonomically designed sleep system that feels phenominal.
Jensen Beds values the opportunity to exhibit with the SSA, and looks forward to celebrating its 80th year at the 2027 January Market.
