Summer Market is Summer Market…

August 23, 2026

Let’s face it — Summer Las Vegas Market always feels slow. The hallways are quieter, the pace is different, and by Tuesday afternoon you can start wondering where everybody went.

But the numbers tell the real story.

For the past several years, buyer traffic in the SSA showroom during Summer Market has consistently been about half of what we see in winter. And this summer? We actually welcomed ONE MORE buyer group than we did in Summer 2025, with attendance also very close to Summer 2024.

So, what can we say? Summer Market is Summer Market. It may feel inordinately slow while we’re in the middle of it, but the numbers tell a different story. And that’s exactly why we keep the data! Year over year, it gives us the perspective that a quiet hallway on Tuesday afternoon simply can’t.

And we had a little fun along the way! Four lucky buyers walked away as CA$H for Scan winners — $50 cash just for scanning their badge in the SSA showroom.

Let’s hear from some of the exhibitors who were in the SSA showroom this Summer Market.

From Joel Buhr, President, First Direct…

Joel and Audrey Buhr with First Direct

The Summer Market in Las Vegas, hosted in the Specialty Sleep Association (SSA) space, was a remarkable event for First Direct. We had the opportunity to reconnect with many of our existing clients while also meeting a number of new retailers and manufacturers who are looking for better ways to market and grow their businesses.

One of the biggest takeaways from the show was the quality of the conversations. We weren’t just collecting business cards—we were having meaningful discussions around AI, data, omnichannel marketing, and how businesses can better connect with today’s consumers. It was encouraging to see so many companies focused on measurable growth rather than just trying the latest marketing trend.

The SSA space continues to be a valuable place for us to build relationships, strengthen existing partnerships, and introduce First Direct to businesses that align well with what we do. We left the market with new opportunities, stronger customer relationships, and a clear path for follow-up conversations.

Overall, it was an outstanding show, and we appreciate the opportunity to be part of the Specialty Sleep Association community. We look forward to continuing those conversations and being back at future markets.

Keith Meriwether, Senior Director of Mega Motion

Although the overall traffic was down for the market in general, there were always buyers in the SSA showroom. Since the consumers are in their reclining lift chairs almost more than their bedding, it was a natural to be in with all of the bedding and bedding accessory vendors! We saw a lot of new dealers and opened over 10 accounts.

Matt Shrum fot the HealthGuard Team

Although traffic was lighter this Summer Market, the quality of the conversations made it worthwhile. We appreciated having more time to connect with our customers, showcase our products, and build relationships that we know will lead to future opportunities.

Brent Polunsky for W.Silver Products

Vegas exceeded my expectations in two ways. I was expecting it to be hot, but it was really hot! I expected to see some customers, but I met many new customers, and I was able to visit with more of my current customers that I was expecting. Overall, it was a great, hot market!

Todd Youngblood for Geli Sleep

While summer market was down overall the Specialty Sleep Showroom delivered quality traffic and meaningful buyers, we’re proud to be a part of this healthy community.

Ted Singer, Founder of NuLyft Adjustable Beds

Despite the perception that the Las Vegas Summer Market is typically slower, that wasn’t our experience in the Specialty Sleep Association space. Buyers continue to attend specifically to see the latest product introductions, and that was evident throughout the event. We were extremely pleased with the number of buyers who visited our booth. For our first time exhibiting, NuLyft Adjustables was busy every day, showing strong, consistent traffic and excellent engagement from both existing and prospective customers. Overall, the market exceeded our expectations and reinforced the value of participating in the Summer Market. See you in January Market !!

Cliff Levin for Furniture For Life Massage Chairs

Jason Goodman for PranaSleep

We had a good market considering overall traffic seemed to be down. SSA always has traffic! More west coast retailers than east coast though. SSA has been critical in the growth of PranaSleep. The exposure is great, and we love being surrounded by the newest innovation at market.

Pascal Roberge for Beaudoin Beds

Although many said market was soft, the SSA was busy with new retailers looking for product solutions. It’s always a great, energetic place to be! (and the pretzels are awesome too!

Gabrielle Fendrick for Latex Sleep

What stood out to us most at Summer Market was the quality of the conversations and connections we made. We had the opportunity to meet wonderful new customers, strengthen existing relationships, and connect with vendors, suppliers, and colleagues throughout the industry. We truly value the relationships we continue to build through the SSA showroom and look forward to carrying that momentum into the January Market.

Sardor Abdullaev for Sleep and Beyond

Natural sleep never goes out of style. From wool and organic cotton to meaningful conversations with our retail partners, Las Vegas Market was another reminder of why we do what we do: helping the world sleep better, naturally.
Thank you, Las Vegas! Until next Market. 🐑

Yigel Barmucha, Headmaster at SOMN

This Summer Market was more than a successful show for SÖMN—it was a powerful validation of where the sleep industry is heading. The response to our Complete Sleep Solution in a Box™ was exceptional, with retailers and industry leaders immediately recognizing the opportunity to offer consumers something more complete, more elevated, and easier to understand than a mattress alone. The energy, quality of conversations, and meaningful new relationships we built exceeded our expectations. The Specialty Sleep Association created an incredible platform for innovation to be discovered, and we left Las Vegas more confident than ever that SÖMN is helping shape the next chapter of the sleep category.

Tim Masters, Founder at My Green Mattress

One of the highlights of Las Vegas Market was connecting with people who share our passion for helping families create healthier places to sleep. We enjoyed meeting retailers interested in offering My Green Mattress products, and exploring opportunities to manufacture white-label organic mattresses for their brands through our Go Green Mattress program. The Market is the perfect opportunity to build relationships with others in the sleep industry. Thank you to the Specialty Sleep Association for creating a professional and welcoming environment.

Michael Nermon for Jensen Beds

Thanks to the numerous booth upgrades by many exhibitors, the SSA Showroom looked better than ever! Jensen’s new, expanded “Shop-In-Shop” display stopped buyers in their tracks, as they discovered both the beauty and the luxurious comfort of Scandinavia’s most popular sleep systems.

JC Gebura for Naturepedic

While many said this summer’s Las Vegas Market was slower than usual, the SSA booth saw strong, steady traffic. More importantly, we connected with a number of high-quality leads that have already turned into new customers. The advantage of a slower summer market is the opportunity to spend more meaningful one-on-one time with each individual customer, building relationships and really understanding their needs.

Julian Stone, President, Cambridge Sleep Sciences

This July’s Market was our most successful to date which as the quieter of the markets, proves that it is all about quality rather than quantity! The SSA showroom continues to be a go-to destination for buyers seeking innovation in the sleep space, and that supports the showcasing of our unique SleepEngine™ technology perfectly. Thanks to Tambra, the SSA members and all the visiting buyers – we look forward to seeing you again in January!
