Overview
The SSA showroom has a strong retail following. On a “normal” Winter Market between 300 – 500 individual retail buyer groups are checked into the room, not to mention countless manufacturers streaming through for business-to-business opportunities. The OPEN flow of the showroom allows all of the 30+ exhibiting companies to be seen easily and experience the synergy of a co-op environment. Buyers have the opportunity to see several mattress and bedding companies all in one room. In the past, showroom traffic has been brisk up through Tuesday evening, Wednesdays are slow and Thursday is really a day for the gift floors, not the bedding or furniture floors. The traffic patterns have undoubtedly fluctuated since COVID-19, however we are heading into 2024 feeling optimistic.
Companies who exhibit in the SSA showroom receive the list of retailer stores who visit during market. “At the end of the day your company is responsible for your attendees, but in this space another advantage is to catch the attention of buyers who maybe didn’t come to visit with you specifically, this happened several times for us at this market” stated Scott Smalling former Retail and Innovation Director for Emma, speaking about the July 2022 show.
What The Exhibitors Have To Say
Ryan Cleary and Healthguard debuted in January.
“Our experience attending the show this year was very positive. Tambra is amazing and so helpful and insightful. If not for her, we wouldn’t have known about Saturday being a soft opening. Also, her assistance in our booth as well as just generally guiding us through our first show isn’t something you can put a price tag on. We are very happy with the Specialty Sleep Association and look forward to more shows to come. “ Click HERE for exhibitor comments from last market.
The SSA has participated at the World Market Center since the opening of the Las Vegas Market in July 2005, beginning in the temporary pavilions, and then in 2011 moving into a permanent showroom. The SSA signed a permanent showroom lease, so that its member exhibitors can experience the convenience of a permanent showroom without a burdensome long-term commitment. Located on the 15th floor of the WMC Building C, a floor completely dedicated to mattress and bedding products, the SSA showroom traffic is targeted to mattress and bedding professionals. “The SSA showroom is an integral part of the Las Vegas Furniture Market”, says past exhibitor Scott Smalling “There has not been a market over the last 17 years that I haven’t made it a priority to visit and see what’s new and innovative in the SSA showroom, or have a space myself like Emma did for 2 markets.”
